Making a Full-Page Guild Layout

This tutorial will teach you how to make a simple full-page guild layout like the one pictured below. Please drag it, and the rest of the images in this tutorial, to your address bar for the full size. (:

1. First, open up a new document (Ctrl+N). 1000px x 1000px in size works well, and is what I usually use, as I prefer a nice large workspace.

2. Now you can open up the image or images you'd like to use. My layout is going to be a blend layout, and you'll need to know how to blend for this tutorial. If you don't know how, check out my blending tuotrial here. The images I'm using are provided below.
1 | 2 | 3

3. Now we have our workspace and our images, so we can officially start our layout. Begin by placing your first image on your canvas like so.

4. Next, paste your other two images onto the canvas and move them so that they are overlapping each other as seen in the screenshot.

5. Then, take the eraser tool, and set it to a rounded brush at 100px and start erasing the overlapping parts until the image is to your liking. You can also use the lasso tool method as shown in my blending tutorial. (link above) My result is below. When you're satisfied with your blend, you can merge the layers (ctrl+E). My blend is below. (:

6. The blend part of our layout is finished, so now we'll need a background. You can use the eyedropper tool (press I) to select a color from one of your images. If you're using the pictures I provided, the color I used was #0e0e0e. Use the paint bucket tool and fill your background layer with it, as shown in the screenshot. Remember to erase around the edges of the images a bit, so it fades into the background, like I did in the reference picture.

7. Your layout base is now finished! You can continue to add brushes, textures, and coloring effects to your layout like I am going to, or you can leave it like it is. I added a texture and a few coloring effects and my result is below. (:

8. Now, we are going to add our textbox. Create a new layer (Shift+Ctrl+N) and take the rectangular marquee tool and make a rectangular shape on your layout, big enough for your blog. Then take the paint bucket tool, and fill it with white. Mess with the opacity until it's to your liking. A reference is provided below.

9. Lastly, you can add your text. Make sure to pick a nice font that looks nice with your layout, because if you don't, it could ruin it. My finished product is below.

And that's it, you are finished! If you have any questions, leave a comment in my blog or on the cbox. I'd love to see your finished results, so you can post them in the cbox as well. Please remember to credit me if you used this tutorial to make your layout, as it's only fair. Also, a coding tutorial for a fullpage guild layout will be up soon, as well, so be on the lookout for that. :D
