3D-Like Text

This tutorial will teach you how to make 3D-like text, a cool little effect that you can use on graphics.

1. I'm opening up a new document because I don't want to do 3D text on a banner right now. I'm going to assume you're going to use the dimensions I use.

2. Using the text tool, I typed out 'The Kingdom' in a font called Carnivalee Freakshow in #6f0707 (dark red).

I'm going to assume that you're using the color I chose. Double click on the foreground color and a new window should pop up. Ignore everything and go to the part where it says #_______. Put 6f0707 at that part.

3. If you look to your right, there's going to a compartment called Layers. On that compartment, there are going to be layers. Find the one where you wrote text on and double click on it.

4. A new window should pop up and it is titled 'Layer Style'. On the left side, there are Blending Options. Click on the one that says Drop Shadow and match my settings.

The red colour is #ff0000. If you're using any other color, make sure that the shading color is brighter or lighter than your actual text color.

5. We're definitely not done yet. Now, click on Bevel and Emboss. We'll be using the default settings.

6. You know the part where it says Contour? Yeah, click on that too. Leave the settings be.

7. Finally, click OK.
